Good news for Learners @ RAF Lyneham
The ILC is located in the Training Centre situated next to the Post Office. It is a product of the ‘Learning Forces’ initiative, to promote learning opportunities within the RAF. Lyneham is one of 10 pioneer Learning Centres, enabling personnel to participate in both whole-class teaching or individual self-study in computer based training (CBT). This facility primarily offers CBT, which will enable more people to participate in learning activities at their own convenience and to suit their individual learning styles. The main ILC has 11 PCs, all have internet access and a adjoining 24-hour Self Access Suite with 4 PCs all have internet access. The ILC offers European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).
The Learning Centre at RAF Lyneham is located in building 67, which is next to the Post Office. This month sees the first issue of the Training Centre Newsletter, introducing the staff and an explanation of their role within the Training Centre/ Learning Centre.
The Learning Centre is designed to help you clarify and achieve your personal development goals, according to your needs, wishes, personal circumstances, commitments and perhaps, concerns.

Within the Interactive Learning Centre there are 15 computers, three of which have internet access. A self access suite is open 24 hours with three computers available to allow shift workers the opportunity to study at any time. There are various Information Technology Courses available including ECDL.

Events are held throughout the year to promote lifelong learning and personal development. The latest event was a college open day, which proved to be very successful. Colleges that attended – Abingdon and Witney, Wiltshire, Swindon, Swindon New College, Bath and the Open University.
