Control of entry, loading and unloading of the full range of Tornado GR1 live, practice and inert weapons, removal and fitment of bomb carriers and release units, Squadron EOD/IED team No 2, driver of Saracen APC, member of special weapon and conventional weapon load team, squadron memorabilia representative, flight servicings on operational aircraft, aircraft towing, removal and fit of Martin Baker Mk 10 Ejection Seats, demolition of life expired and unserviceable explosive stores using a full range of demolition explosives. Range clearance at Nordhorn air weapons range and EOD/IED directing staff duties. Running of 26 sub-armouries across both Islands and South Georgia, instructing personnel in correct running of the armouries and basic weapon maintenance, supervising the rectification and servicing of specialist weapons including 0.5” machine guns, Mortars and Milan ATGW Missile posts, JSEODOC briefings to all arrivals on minefield, unexploded bombs and other explosive hazard dangers, RARDEN 30mm Scimitar gunner and driver, on call for any EOD/IED incident with ordinance from the 1982 conflict, routine six monthly crash site demolition visits. |

Weapons Tradesman Q – D – B Introductory Course Q – AT – W Weapons RAF Germany Course Training to grade 3 Hockey Umpire level in the association and experience gained in following seasons.An ‘X’ annotation is awarded after one year’s experience on an aircraft system, this annotation is for experience on the Weapon and Escape Systems. This local training enables the individual to carry out BF, TR and AF flight servings on Tornado GR 1 Aircraft. JNCO’s are also qualified to undertake supervision of these duties. This is a management task that finally states that a job has been completed to a satisfactory standard. This training was given to cover periods when the SNCO was away on other duties. This qualification allows an NCO with the Q – SA – W qualification to run a 25 meter range whilst the testing of station small arms is carried out, this includes single shot and automatic weapons fired on full automatic. |
